Class sizes are small, so you can work at your own pace. However, if you don't know where to start, or there is something that you would like to learn, we can discuss before hand and I can teach specific techniques and processes, to encourage and inspire you!

An hour of art and relaxation. This is not meant as a formal art class. This is an opportunity to creatively play and to express yourself. Think doodling, stencilling, print-making, collage and abstract painting! There will be ideas and suggestions each week.

This class is best suited to those that have a little background knowledge and confidence, but all are very welcome! You can choose which medium, and bring your own projects and ideas and receive expert guidance and tuition in a lovely small group environment.

Cost: £22 per class - basic materials can be provided, but you may wish to bring your own so that you can work in between classes and continue to work at home. I can advise you on what to purchase.
A weekly class for those that need flexibility, a space to create and an environment to be with like-minded people! Groups are small, allowing for lots of 1-to-1 guidance and easy group discussions. You will need to bring your own project ideas to work on, in any medium.
Time: 10-11am or 10-11.30am - from 3rd September (no classes on 29th October, 24th December, 31st December. Classes will resume on 7th January.
Cost: £15 for 10-11am, £22 for 10-11.30am - bring your own materials or for £16/£23 respectively to include materials.
This class is suited to secondary -school age children. These classes give children the opportunity to develop skills in a small group environment, with lots of 1-2-1 tuition, to help them progress in their art. We will explore a wide range of techniques, processes and different media, responding to a brief, with lots of scope for self-expression. Children will need to be dropped off and picked up and have a sensible and focused attitude, as this is a working studio.
Time: 4-5pm New term begins 7th September (holidays by arrangement)
£6 for a taster and then classes are booked in termly blocks, approx £12.50 per class. Materials are included for most activities although there maybe some projects that might require a supplement charge.

There are many benefits to learning how to, or improving drawing skills: it can improve your memory, sharpens your focus and can lower stress. From quick doodling to sustained observation, it builds better hand-eye coordination and helps you to see the world in a more detailed way. Improving your drawing skills will have a positive impact on your work as a painter or sculptor and we can often forget to build it into own practice. In this course, we will explore a wide range of drawing materials and techniques and the use of 'sketch-books'. Our practice and journey, will be more about the enjoyment of the process than the final outcome.

This course is an introduction to painting with acrylics. We will explore grounds, surfaces, underpainting, and the tools and tricks to create pleasing compositions. Acrylics are a fantastically versatile and forgiving paint. This course will be playful and experimental. Encouraging you to find your own style. We will start with techniques and excercises, and as the course progresses, you will be encouraged to bring along your own project ideas, photographs to work from or objects to paint.

An opportunity for those with some experience of painting with acrylics, to come and paint with expert tuition and guidance. Class sizes are small so you will benefit from lots of 1-2-1 teaching. You will need to bring your own materials, project ideas and resources, such as your own photographs. There will be the opportunity to learn and explore new skills and techniques, such as impasto painting, using a palette knife and using mixed-media.

There is more to drawing and painting portraits than creating an exact 'photographic' representation of a person. Paint water and skies, boats and birds, reflections and texture. We will practice some techniques and build these into a piece of work. Ideally bring along a photograph that you have taken (printed/on your phone) to paint from/inspire you.

Fun, playful, and therapeutic. A time to relax and enjoy creating: this workshop is relaxed and its is not so much a formal art class as a chance to experiment, play and get creative! We will use magazines and patterned papers and other materials to create a collaged piece, with some yummy homemade refreshments!

There is more to portraiture than capturing a realistic and exact likeness. Wealthy portrait 'commissioners', would often be painted holding an object, or dressed a certain way, to show something about themselves. Bodies and postures, can also tell you alot about a person! Bring photographs or images if you would like.
In this workshop, we will use lots of paint, mixed media, big brushes and big sheets of paper!

A 'sip and paint' type of vibe! A step by step workshop to paint an expressive seascape, featuring a pier in silhouette, against a vibrant sunset sky! I will lead you through the session as we paint together on an a canvas using acrylic paints.
